Bring your spreadsheet into Jayb

Jayb is an AI budgeting app and money manager that reads your spreadsheets in whatever layout they're in. Send Jayb AI a CSV, Excel (.xlsx) or older Excel (.xls) file, such as a team's expense sheet, a home budget or a list of accounts, and it reads every sheet. Ask it questions and it answers from the sheet's exact totals; ask it to add the rows and it turns them into transactions, or adds the accounts, categories and budgets the sheet lists.

Try Jayb

Any layout

  • CSV, .xlsx and .xls files; every sheet in the file is read, and a title above the table is fine.
  • Amount and date columns, separate money-out and money-in columns, or an income/expense column.
  • Each row gets its own category; totals lines are skipped.

Ask it about the sheet

  • Answers come from the sheet's exact totals, by category, person or month.
  • Handy for a shared expense sheet: who spent what, and on what.

Turn it into transactions

  • Rows are added as transactions on one Confirm card, up to 150 per card.
  • Rows already in Jayb are left out.
  • Categories or accounts that aren't in Jayb yet are asked about first.
  • It can add the accounts, categories or budgets a sheet lists instead.

What people send

  • A team's expense sheet: ask who spent what, then add its rows as transactions.
  • A home budget: add its categories and budgets to Jayb in one go.
  • A list of accounts with balances: add them all as accounts.

Statements and Hysab Kytab files

  • A bank statement export (one with a running balance) is reconciled against your account like any statement.
  • A Hysab Kytab export belongs on the Import screen, which brings across your whole history.

How it works

  1. 1

    Attach the file

Send the CSV or Excel file to Jayb AI in the chat.

  2. 2

    Ask or instruct

'What did we spend on travel?', or 'Add these as expenses from my HBL account'.

  3. 3

    Answer any questions

If a category or account isn't in Jayb, it asks what to do.

  4. 4

    Confirm

One tap adds the rows; rows already recorded are left out.

Who it's for

  • People moving from a budget spreadsheet to an app.
  • Teams or families who keep a shared expense sheet.
  • Anyone with an export from another app or a bank.

Questions

Which spreadsheet files work?

CSV, Excel .xlsx and older Excel .xls files, in any layout, up to 4 MB.

Will importing the same sheet twice create duplicates?

No. Rows already in Jayb are left out.

How many rows can it add at once?

Up to 150 rows on one Confirm card.

Can I import a Hysab Kytab export this way?

Use the Import screen for that: it's built for Hysab Kytab's own files and reconciles every account.

What if the sheet uses a category I don't have?

Jayb AI asks you about it before adding anything.
