# Every currency you hold, in one money manager

Jayb is an AI budgeting app and money manager that's rupees first and handles other currencies properly. Give each account its own currency, such as a dollar account for freelance income or a dirham account from working abroad, and Jayb keeps its balance in that currency. Wherever the balance shows, what it's worth in rupees shows beside it, counted at your own rate or today's market rate.

## Each account in its own currency

- Any account, a bank, a wallet, a card or cash, can be in its own currency.
- Totals are kept per currency on the Accounts page, never added across currencies.
- What a balance is worth in rupees shows beside it, like '$1,000 ≈ Rs 277,008', on Accounts, Home, the account's page and the account pickers.

## Your rate or the market's

- Each currency counts at your own rate if you set one, otherwise today's market rate.
- Set your rate right on an account in that currency; it applies to every account in that currency.
- The account says which rule it follows, and its page shows the rate used.

## Freelancers and families abroad

- Pick Payoneer, Wise, PayPal, RedotPay or Skrill as the account's service, and its logo becomes the account's picture.
- Keep a dollar card, a dirham account or travel cash next to your rupee accounts.
- Income paid in dollars stays in dollars on that account, while Home shows what it's worth in rupees.

## Net worth that adds up

- Your net worth counts every currency in rupees, and Home sorts your accounts by what they're worth.
- Ask Jayb AI to convert any amount between currencies.
- Tell Jayb AI an amount in another currency and it records it in the account's currency, with the rate it used noted.

## How it works

1. **Add the account**: Choose its currency when you add it.
2. **Set a rate if you like**: Use your own rate, or leave it on today's market rate.
3. **Record as usual**: Entries stay in the account's own currency.
4. **See it all in rupees**: Home and your net worth count everything in rupees.

## Questions

### Are different currencies added together?

Only in your net worth, after converting to rupees. Account totals are kept per currency.

### Which exchange rate is used?

Your own rate for that currency if you've set one, otherwise today's market rate.

### Can I record a dollar expense on a rupee account?

Yes, by telling Jayb AI the amount in dollars. It converts it into the account's currency and notes the rate it used.

### Can Jayb AI set my exchange rate?

Yes. Tell it your rate for a currency and it applies to every account in that currency.
