Jayb is an AI budgeting app and money manager whose categories fit your life from day one. Start with ten everyday ones, add a starter pack for students, salaried people, households, freelancers or shopkeepers, and make any category your own. Money that isn't day-to-day spending, like Zakat, Khums or tax, can be left out of budgets while still showing in your reports.

## A good start

- Ten everyday categories: Salary, Other Income, Food & Drink, Grocery, Transport, Bills & Utilities, Home, Shopping, Health and Other Expense.
- Starter packs at setup or any time: Student, Salaried, Household, Freelancer and Shopkeeper.
- Household adds Domestic Help, Eid, Eidi, Khums and Zakat; Freelancer adds Software & Tools and Tax; Shopkeeper adds Stock Purchase, Staff Wages and Sales.

## Easy to tell apart

- Add, rename and delete income and expense categories, with an icon and a colour.
- New categories get an icon that fits the name and a colour their siblings don't have.
- 'Give each its own look' restyles look-alikes in one tap, with Undo, and never touches ones you styled yourself.

## Leave out of budgets

- For money that isn't day-to-day spending, like Khums, Zakat or tax.
- It still shows in reports, but never counts against a budget, the cap, the month card or safe to spend.

## Picked for you

- On the add screen, once a payee has been used twice with a category, it's filled in for you.
- The add screen shows every category in one row, most used first, with search.
- Reports compare each category with your 6-month average, and family budgets match categories by name.
- Ask Jayb AI to add, rename or restyle categories, or add a starter pack.

## How it works

1. **Pick what fits you**: Choose a starter pack at setup, or skip it and keep the ten everyday categories.
2. **Make them yours**: Rename, add or restyle any category.
3. **Keep Zakat apart**: Mark Zakat, Khums or tax to leave them out of budgets.
4. **Let it learn**: After a payee's been used twice with a category, it fills in for you.

## Questions

### How do I keep Zakat or Khums out of my budget?

Mark the category 'leave out of budgets'. It still shows in reports, but never counts against a budget, the cap or safe to spend. The Household pack adds both already marked.

### Can I add a starter pack later?

Yes. Add a pack's categories any time from Categories, or ask Jayb AI.

### How does it pick the category?

On the add screen, from your own history: once a payee has been used twice with a category, it's filled in. Jayb AI uses the category you say, or the only one that fits, and asks when two could.

### Will budgets for categories still work if I rename them?

Yes. Renaming changes the name, not the category, so its budgets and history stay with it.
